Calvin and Faith met while attending school at Southwestern Michigan College. They both LOVE the outdoors and rock climbing. Though Dowagiac, Michigan doesn’t boast any fabulous rock formations, we were able to use Marlowe Meadows’ wooded area and fields for some gorgeous scenery to contribute to their engagement session. We drove around the property on quads enjoying the surroundings and choosing beautifully backlit sceneries for their portraits. To try and incorporate their […] Continue reading →

The Cirulis family gathered together at a lake house in Cassopolis, Michigan to celebrate 50 years of marriage for these two. Congratulations on your many years of marriage, and for raising such a wonderful family. It truly was a pleasure meeting you all and capturing these memories for you! It can truly be a feat getting 18 family members at the same place at the same time, but the Cirulis family made it happen. We had lots of fun throughout the session. This included some awesome photo […] Continue reading →

Noelle came to me asking if we could create a special photo experience for her and her four best friends. They all recently graduated from Edwardsburg High School and will soon be going their separate ways to college. She wanted to have these images to look back on and remember what fun times she had with the beautiful ladies.   After hanging out in the woods for a bit, we moved to the field. I loved all the genuine laughs I was able to capture from these ladies! And what is a best […] Continue reading →

Some of you may be trying to just get your feet wet when it comes to weddings, others of you may be trying to fill your calendar with additional work since you haven’t booked a wedding yourself. No matter the case, here are five tips that will bring your second shooting game to the next level.   Communication is key! I feel like this is an obvious component to working with another photographer, but when I first started out I know I struggled with it. Make sure you ask the first […] Continue reading →

When Kelly contacted me to photograph her family out on Magician Lake, I instantly thought this is going to be gorgeous! This family did not disappoint.   Scott and Colleen, you have a beautiful family! You did a great job raising fun, witty kids that were a blast to spend the evening with. I know Scott, the patriarch of the family, was not thrilled about family photos. I’m hoping once he’s seen the few images here that he will think this family photo session was […] Continue reading →

Katie and Jason, along with their families, put sooo much time and effort into creating the details for their special day. I mean LOOK. AT. THESE! The bride’s father even made the crates for each and every centerpiece at the reception. That is one dedicated dad if you ask me! All the preparation comes down to that one moment when the couple says “I DO,” but until that happens everyone pitches in to make the day go off with out a hitch. Bridesmaids help dress the bride and […] Continue reading →

You may remember Kaity and Kyle gracing a few of my posts last summer after I photographed their wedding. Their wedding was something a photographer dreams about. Well… they are now expecting their own little bundle of joy! Mr. Aiden James will be making his appearance in September of this year. I absolutely love the fact that Kaity and Kyle have trusted me to document not one, not two, but three exciting times in their lives. I just know these two are going to be fabulous parents!   […] Continue reading →

When you become a parent no one can ever prepare you for the amount of love, joy, and excitement you will experience because of that child. On the other hand, neither can they prepare you for the sadness, frustration, and impatience you will encounter while raising that baby. Everything in life has the good and the not so good stuff, but personally I wouldn’t have it any other way! My daughter has been one of the biggest blessings in my life. She can be hard to handle some times, but that […] Continue reading →

Big News

I know I told you guys I had some big news to break to you at the end of this month. Well… I recently took a HUGE leap of faith by quitting my 9-5 job to become a stay at home mom! My last day is April 28th. Here’s a bit of a background story as to why I made this choice: My husband and I were habitually running into scheduling complications with day care and work. I became extremely stressed out trying to be the dependable employee and the best mom possible. My daughter wasn’t […] Continue reading →

Not all couples are going to be similar to their counterpart in stature. There are times you may come across a groom that is over a foot taller than his sweet bride or vice versa. Of course, when I’m in these situations as the photographer I want to give them an array of images that focus on them and their love, not their height difference. To help in these situations I use a few different approaches. I try to find elements in the surrounding area that I can use that may lessen the gap. […] Continue reading →
